Allegiant Airlines partnered with Sunseeker Hotels to launch a pilot program that combined vacation travel with hotel and concierge services, all managed through two integrated mobile apps. The user journey began with vacation planning and extended through flight booking, hotel stays, and real-time on-site services.

Key features included airport services such as flight schedules, e-wallet ticket codes, account management, and the early adoption of an AI chatbot named “AVA.” The AVA experience continued within the Sunseeker Hotels app, assisting users with hotel check-ins, dining reservations, room service, digital room keys, local entertainment offers, and rewards tracking.

I served as the principal UX/UI designer on this project, working alongside a digital strategist. Together, we orchestrated a highly integrated user experience that required seamless coordination between two distinct yet interconnected applications.

Allegiant and Sunseeker app landing pages

The landing pages of each app served as dynamic guides, helping users navigate whichever phase of their vacation they were in at any given moment. The airline app functioned not only as a helpful tool during airport visits but also as a platform for managing rewards and accessing exclusive member travel offers.

The hotel app utilized on-property geolocation services to notify users of local deals and spontaneous entertainment events throughout their stay. Users could also leverage location-based features to order food or drinks from anywhere on the property.

Custom animation and a unified, purpose-built style guide tied the experience together across both apps, providing a seamless sense of continuity and clarity throughout the user journey.

Strategy and Whiteboard Exercises

Developing the strategy, UI, and UX for two companion web apps and websites was an ambitious undertaking from the start. We dedicated nearly two months to planning and white-boarding to ensure every detail was thoughtfully considered before moving into execution. The process involved weeks of exploring, organizing, and documenting hundreds of ideas, a challenging but essential effort to align on a clear direction. Below are a few key milestones we reached before even beginning the wire-framing phase.
