Brand support: implementation, operation and training

At Revelyst, my primary focus has been leading a comprehensive overhaul of design files and frameworks across 14 D2C websites. I've spearheaded efforts to modernize each site, reshaping how our premium brands are showcased, sold, and experienced by customers. Most recently, I implemented a unified design system that now supports all of Revelyst's D2C digital experiences. By standardizing Figma as our core UX/Ul platform, we successfully aligned all brands under the Revelyst banner, streamlined design operations, and significantly reduced dependency on external vendors.

My first challenge was transitioning the company away from third-party vendors and a disorganized mix of design file types. I began by identifying the most critical needs, followed by the most desired features. To do this, I conducted interviews with managers and design teams across all 14 Revelyst brands, resulting in the following lists:

Needs
• Live design files for all digital projects
• Archiving capabilities for all past digital work
• Master libraries used consistently across all brand files
• Master framework components compatible with Shopify templates

Desires
• Live prototypes for A/B testing
• Centralized wire-framing capabilities
• Administrative control for all brands within Figma
• Improved design-to-development workflows

With this information in hand, I successfully advocated for the transition of all brands into the Revelyst Enterprise Figma account.

Revelyst / Figma Brand Flow

This process spanned nearly two years in total. I delivered several presentations to the brand teams to explain the importance and technical aspects of the transition. Once implementation began, I organized and led training sessions for all brand, design, and content team members across each brand. These sessions introduced the foundational aspects of using Figma within the new collaborative environment.

Topics included email creation, website layout, component design strategies, submitting change requests, prototyping workflows, and asset creation and optimization for digital projects.

All training was conducted via Microsoft Teams in two-hour screen-sharing sessions. As the Principal UX Designer for Revelyst, I served as the primary point of contact for training requests and questions about the new processes, managing them through JIRA and Teams chat.

Figma Brand Library - Bushnell

All of the Revelyst brands used Figma to manage their individual brand libraries. These libraries were maintained jointly by the lead brand designer and me. Every digital project, including emails, websites, and social ads,   relied on its corresponding brand library. All brand files adhered to a consistent UX design protocol, which included grid systems, sizing standards, and breakpoint guidelines.

Components built using Shopify and Figma followed established UX principles and included clear usage instructions and a defined change request process. Every brand team member had access to both the Revelyst environment and myself for training, special design needs, or prototype-related requests.
