Invisalign is a system of clear, removable aligners designed to straighten teeth and correct bite issues. It serves as a modern alternative to traditional metal braces, offering a more discreet and convenient treatment option. The process is costly and depends heavily on younger users to manage timed usage, proper cleaning, and any issues that arose during treatment.
My approach to the app focused on creating an assistant that helped younger users stay engaged with their routine by setting goal-oriented targets tied to the results they strongly desired. The app encourages users to document their progress through photos and share key milestones with parents and doctors. This process aimed to shift responsibility to the user, fostering a sense of self-confidence and personal achievement throughout their treatment journey.
The app was designed to communicate aligner number progress and the time remaining for each session. By tracking progress in this way, it helped reduce the monotony of the treatment by clearly showing how many aligners had been used and how many remained. Each session saved user-submitted photos and displayed side-by-side comparisons to visually track progress over time.
Parents and doctors were also able to monitor progress through out the patients journey and set custom goals and rewards to encourage continued engagement. Since Invisalign was a long and gradual medical process, the app was built to support consistent motivation and help users stay on track until their desired results were achieved.
